«Son of Altered Beast» is the EP by Matthew Sweet, released in 1994 on Volcano, on CD.
The EP brings together alternative material from the 'Altered Beast' period: the remix of 'Devil with the Green Eyes', live recordings of 'Someone to Pull the Trigger' and 'I Wanted to Tell You', and a studio outtake. It maintains the artist's indie rock of accessible melodies and crisp guitars, with arrangements ranging between live energy and introspection.
Produced by Richard Dashut and Matthew Sweet; 'Devil with the Green Eyes' remixed by Brendan O'Brien. The live tracks were recorded in Washington D.C. and San Juan Capistrano in 1993. European edition.
For Matthew Sweet fans who want to complete the 'Altered Beast' era with remixes, live tracks, and an outtake.
