«Songs From The Wood» is the progressive rock and folk album by Jethro Tull, released by Chrysalis in 1996 as a CD reissue of the 1977 record.
The album evokes life in the woods and the English rural calendar, with songs about nature, the seasons and folk traditions. Jethro Tull combine progressive rock and folk in a sound close to English roots music. Tracks include «Songs from the Wood», «Jack-In-The-Green» and «Ring Out, Solstice Bells».
The CD contains nine songs, all written and produced by Ian Anderson. The cover shows a man sitting by a campfire in a forest.
For fans of progressive rock and folk rock from the seventies, especially Jethro Tull's folk period.
