«Speak & Spell» is the debut album by Depeche Mode, released in 1981 on Mute, on CD.
Speak & Spell is Depeche Mode's starting point: a repertoire of synth-pop and electronics, with pop melodies and closeness to the new wave of the early eighties. It includes 'New Life' and 'Just Can't Get Enough', two representative tracks from their initial phase.
The album was originally released on October 5, 1981; this CD edition contains one disc and the songs are in English.
For those who want to discover Depeche Mode's beginnings or revisit the first wave of synth-pop and British new wave.
