«Strauss: Sinfonía Alpina / Concierto para trompa», by Hermann Baumann, Kurt Masur and the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, on CD.
The album brings together two works by Richard Strauss: the Alpine Symphony and the Horn Concerto. The Alpine Symphony is inspired by the landscape of the Alps, and the cover shows mountains under a cloudy sky. Hermann Baumann is the horn soloist, with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra conducted by Kurt Masur.
Import edition from the United Kingdom; includes a single disc.
For classical music enthusiasts, particularly the orchestral repertoire of Richard Strauss.
