«Swingsation» is the compilation album by Benny Goodman, released in 1999 by Verve, on CD.
A compilation bringing together emblematic recordings by Benny Goodman's big band from the swing era, with his clarinet as the great protagonist. It includes «Sing, Sing, Sing» and «Don't Be That Way», pieces that capture the energy of the dance halls of the 1930s and 1940s and the virtuosity of the 'King of Swing'.
The compilation was released in June 1999 as a single CD, and its repertoire falls within big band, swing and ragtime.
For fans of classic jazz, swing and big bands, and also as a first introduction to this repertoire.
