«Symphonies Nos. 1 & 6» is the Beethoven compilation by the Cleveland Orchestra and George Szell, released in 1991 by Sony Classical on CD.
It brings together Symphony No. 1 in C major, Symphony No. 6 in F major «Pastoral» and the «Egmont» overture, performed by the Cleveland Orchestra conducted by George Szell. The «Pastoral» evokes the countryside in five movements: a brook, a peasant festival, a storm and the final thanksgiving.
Previously released material, remastered on CD (ADD), in Sony Classical's Essential Classics series; copyright 1964 and 1971 and total duration 76:04.
For classical music enthusiasts interested in George Szell's versions with the Cleveland Orchestra.
