«Symphony No. 2 in E Minor, Op. 27» is the classical music album by Sergei Rachmaninov, with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Vernon Handley, on CD.
The symphony, a central piece of the Russian Romantic repertoire, unfolds its four movements from the opening Largo-Allegro moderato to the final Allegro vivace, passing through the famous Adagio. Its exuberant orchestration and deeply lyrical melodies make it one of Rachmaninov's most beloved scores.
The recording was made in November 1994 at CTS Studios in London; this CD edition has 32-bit DDD digital sound, contains one disc and is published by The International Music Company AG.
An edition aimed at classical music enthusiasts seeking a complete orchestral version of a great Russian Romantic symphony.
