«The Cause of It All» is the blues album by Reverend Shawn Amos, released in 2021 by Put Together Music, on CD.
The album collects blues classics in stripped-down versions, recorded during lockdown with guitarist Chris «Doctor» Roberts. The songs speak of vulnerability and isolation with a cheerful tone, in the vein of Willie Dixon, Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker.
It is Reverend Shawn Amos's fourth studio album. A year earlier, Reverend Shawn Amos released «Blue Sky», which reached number 6 on the Billboard blues albums chart.
For classic blues listeners interested in reduced-format versions, with voice and harmonica accompanied by acoustic and electric guitars.
