«The City» is the album by Vangelis, released in 1990 on Eastwest (Warner), on CD.
The record evokes the pulse of an imaginary city through ambient, synth-pop and Vangelis's synthesizers: atmospheres ranging from dawn to night traffic, with hypnotic melodies and enveloping rhythms. Standout tracks include «Dawn», «Twilight» and «Nerve Centre».
The CD contains eight tracks and was issued with catalogue number 9031-73026-2; the back cover credits composition, arrangements, production and performance to Vangelis.
For listeners of ambient electronic and synth-pop music, and for followers of Vangelis's urban side.
