«The Complete RCA Victor Small Group Recordings» is the Benny Goodman compilation, released in 1997 by RCA Victor, on CD.
It brings together the recordings that Benny Goodman and his small groups made for RCA Victor, including the Benny Goodman Trio and the Benny Goodman Quartet. The clarinetist leads an agile and elegant swing alongside piano, vibraphone and drums, with takes that show the conversation between the musicians and the improvisation characteristic of jazz.
3-disc compilation with 207 minutes of playing time, in the swing style. Original reference: 09026-68764-2.
For classic jazz collectors and listeners interested in the swing of small groups from the mid-20th century.
