«The Detroit Experiment» is the album by Detroit Experiment, released in 2006 by Rykodisc on CD.
In the winter of 2002, more than two dozen jazz musicians from Detroit improvised together for five days; the recordings were later rearranged by Carl Craig, turning them into a sonic journey through the city's history and present. The result combines jazz, funk, soul and electronic music, with tracks such as «Think Twice», «Church» and «Revelation».
Single CD in a European edition, with catalogue number RCD 16026; part of The Experiment Series, which began with The Philadelphia Experiment.
For fans of contemporary jazz, deep house and funk, and for those who follow Carl Craig's work.
