«The Gospel According to the Staple Singers» is the compilation by The Staple Singers, released in 2000 by Metrodome, on CD.
It brings together a representative part of The Staple Singers' gospel period, with their characteristic combination of harmony vocals and lyrics of faith and hope. These are pieces from before the group's leap into commercial soul and R&B, reflecting their religious roots and the American musical tradition.
The edition, in English and on a single CD, was released under the Metrodome label and is linked to the Dressed to Kill imprint.
It will appeal to collectors and fans of classic gospel and traditional American music.
