«The Sophtware Slump» is the second studio album by the American indie rock group Grandaddy, released in 2000 on CD.
The record portrays a world where technology becomes strange and oppressive, doing so with lo-fi guitars, spacey synthesizers and the serene voice of Jason Lytle. The songs alternate a friendly melodic surface with an underlying melancholy, while the cover, with computer keys over a landscape, sums up that clash between nature and electronics.
This Spanish edition has the catalogue code EVERCD132 and was released under the labels Everlasting Records and V2 Records. The CD was manufactured by Sony DADC.
Aimed at those who enjoy melancholic indie rock and the electronic textures of the turn of the millennium, with lo-fi productions.
