«The Velvet Underground & Nico» is the debut album by The Velvet Underground, reissued on remastered CD in 1996 by Polydor.
The album's sound blends rock, pop and experimentation. Lou Reed's lyrics tackle drugs and desire with frankness, alternating calm and dissonance. It includes «Sunday Morning», «Heroin» and «All Tomorrow's Parties». The banana cover signed by Andy Warhol is part of its mythology.
Remastered reissue with 11 tracks. Produced by Andy Warhol and performed by Lou Reed, John Cale, Sterling Morrison, Maureen Tucker and Nico.
For listeners who want to discover a key work of experimental rock and understand its influence on punk and pop.
