«The Year of the Boar» is the free jazz album by Ingebrigt Håker Flaten Quintet, released in 2008 by Jazzland Recordings and Universal Music Norway, on CD.
The album moves between free jazz and noise, with an experimental approach. The quintet led by Ingebrigt Håker Flaten builds dense, expressive music, where improvisation coexists with passages of great sonic harshness. It is a work that bets on the energy of the ensemble and on taking jazz to unusual territories.
Norwegian edition released on February 26, 2008, with a 71-minute CD.
A proposal for listeners interested in free jazz, noise and sonic experimentation.
