«Theater Tilters» is the jazz album by the group Atomic, released in 2010 by Jazzland Recordings and distributed by Universal, as a double CD.
Recorded live at the Teater Lederman in Stockholm in October 2009, the album captures the energy and spontaneity of Atomic, one of the reference ensembles of avant-garde acoustic jazz in Europe. The compositions are by Fredrik Ljungkvist and Håvard Wiik, although the result is a collective, free and improvised effort, with equal contributions from the five musicians.
Double CD edition, of Norwegian origin. Line-up: Fredrik Ljungkvist (saxophones, clarinet), Magnus Broo (trumpet), Håvard Wiik (piano), Ingebrigt Håker Flaten (double bass) and Paal Nilssen-Love (drums).
Recommended for listeners of free jazz and avant-garde jazz; an intense listen, not suitable for all ears.
