«Tico! Tico!» is the Latin jazz album by Paquito D'Rivera, released in 1990 by Chesky Records, on CD.
The album combines jazz with Latin rhythms: Paquito D'Rivera plays saxophone and clarinet in an acoustic ensemble with guitars, piano, bass, drums and percussion. The repertoire includes «Tico Tico», «Danza Característica» and «Three Venezuelan Waltzes», with Afro-Cuban and South American flavors.
The back cover indicates recording with minimalist mixing techniques, without overdubs or artificial enhancement; produced by David Chesky and Paquito D'Rivera.
For fans of Latin jazz and recordings with an audiophile approach, interested in acoustic line-ups and natural sound.
