«Tosca» is the album of the eponymous opera by Giacomo Puccini with Maria Callas, Giuseppe di Stefano and Tito Gobbi, released in 1997 by EMI Classics on CD.
Callas embodies Tosca, di Stefano Cavaradossi and Gobbi Scarpia, under the baton of Victor de Sabata leading the orchestra and chorus of the Teatro alla Scala. The tension of the second act and di Stefano's aria «E lucevan le stelle» are some of the highlights of this version.
1953 recording in Milan, remastered and issued on 2 CDs in mono format.
