«Transformer» is the album by Lou Reed, released in 1972 by RCA Records/SBME, on CD.
An essential glam rock work that portrays New York's night-time characters and settings with irony and sensitivity. It includes «Walk on the Wild Side», «Perfect Day» and «Satellite of Love», tracks that combine accessible melodies, intelligent lyrics and elegant arrangements, in an album that moves between celebration, melancholy and urban decay.
Produced by David Bowie and Mick Ronson; musicians include Klaus Voormann and Herbie Flowers.
A classic for glam rock fans and for discovering Lou Reed's solo career after the Velvet Underground.
