«Bachianas Brasileiras Nos. 1, 2, 5 y 9» is the compilation album by Heitor Villa-Lobos with Victoria de los Ángeles and the Orchestre National de la Radiodiffusion Française, released by EMI on CD.
This CD brings together four of Villa-Lobos's Bachianas Brasileiras in historic recordings from the 1950s conducted by the composer himself. The most celebrated work, the Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 for soprano and eight cellos, features the voice of Victoria de los Ángeles in her famous Aria (Cantilena). Completing the program are the orchestral versions of Nos. 2 and 9 and the complete No. 1 for cellos, with movements such as the Prelúdio or the Tocata (O Trenzinho do Caipira).
