«Violin Concertos» is the album by Joseph Boulogne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, released in 2001 by Naxos, on CD.
The 18th-century French composer Joseph Boulogne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, wrote these concertos for his own instrument: they demand great agility and have slow movements of great lyricism. The Allegro of the Concerto in C major and the Largo of the Concerto in A major stand out. Performed by Takako Nishizaki and the Cologne Chamber Orchestra with Helmut Müller-Brühl.
Part of Naxos's The 18th Century Concerto series, catalogue number 8.555040. Recorded by DeutschlandRadio in Cologne in 2000; one CD, total duration 67:54.
For lovers of classical music and 18th-century violin repertoire, as well as concertos with chamber orchestra.
