«Violin Concertos Nos. 2, 3 & 5» is the album by Charles-Auguste de Bériot, released in 2008 by Naxos on CD.
Bériot's Violin Concertos Nos. 2, 3 and 5 are works of early Romanticism and the Franco-Belgian school. Nos. 2 and 3 show Paganini's influence in virtuoso passages and operatic melodies, while No. 5 has a more playful side. Philippe Quint performs the solo part with the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Kirk Trevor.
Concertos No. 2 in B minor Op. 32, No. 3 in E minor Op. 44 and No. 5 in D major Op. 55 were recorded in Bratislava in October 2006.
For violin enthusiasts and fans of 19th-century Romantic repertoire who want to discover lesser-known composers of the period.
