«Way Out West» is the album by Sonny Rollins, released in 2008 by Essential Jazz Classics, on CD.
The saxophonist leads a piano-less trio in which double bass and drums dialogue with his tenor saxophone. The pieces move between bebop and hard bop, with a clear instrumentation that leaves room for improvisation and constant exchange among the three musicians.
The original album was released in 1957, and this reissue, in 2008.
