«White Chalk» is the studio album by PJ Harvey, released in 2007 by Island on CD.
A minimalist pop rock work: the piano dominates almost the entire record and PJ Harvey sings with a fragile, restrained, almost ghostly voice. The atmosphere is intimate and dark, with a melancholic tone and lyrics that lean into vulnerability. Among its tracks are «The Devil», «When Under Ether» and «The Piano».
The album contains 11 tracks and one disc, with lyrics in English, and was released by Island. Release date: October 2, 2007.
For fans of PJ Harvey and for listeners who prefer sober, melancholic records, with the piano at the center.
