«1969» is the novel by Eduard Márquez Tañá, published by L'Altra Editorial in paperback, with 536 pages, in Catalan.
The narrative starts from the cover photograph: a demonstration on the Paral·lel avenue in Barcelona, when the street was still called Marqués del Duero. That image serves to evoke police repression, refuge in the narrow streets of Poble Sec, and the contrast between a grey world and the need to feel alive, free, to break the grey mass.
First edition with the L'Altra Narrativa imprint, published on November 2, 2022. ISBN 9788412572452.
For readers of contemporary fiction and for those seeking a look at the grey Barcelona of 1969 and the struggle for freedom.
