After a nuclear war in 1992, Texas has seceded from the United States and controls the oil. Israel, intact but overpopulated, sends mercenaries in exchange for land; among them Sol Inglestein and Myra Kalan, who lead Operation King to rescue the US president, kidnapped by Texan rebels.
The novel belongs to EDAF's Science Fiction Collection (no. 6), translated from English by J. Rodríguez Durán. Its original title is The Texas-Israeli War: 1999.
Fans of military science fiction and alternate histories: the novel combines warfare with a post-apocalyptic setting.
