Shakira receives a hand-stitched soccer ball with six cross stitches. The gift awakens memories of her childhood in Pakistan and of years stitching soccer balls in a clandestine workshop. There she shared with other children the dream of being signed by the Sialkot Blue team to escape her confinement, and she wished to have a family and learn to read and write.
It is part of the Antaviana collection from Barcanova, within its children's and young adult catalogue, with a recommended reading age of 12 and up.
A novel about childhood, child labor, soccer and hope, aimed at young readers.
