«82. Uma Copa, Quinze Histórias» is a paperback book of short stories by fifteen Brazilian authors about the 1982 World Cup, published by Casarão do Verbo.
Fifteen Brazilian authors recreate Italy's 3-2 win over Brazil at the 1982 World Cup and the emotional impact of that elimination, a collective trauma of Brazilian soccer comparable to the Maracanazo of 1950. The stories combine analytical distance and personal memory to portray the era and the effects of that defeat.
Published in 2013 in Portuguese, with 160 pages. The anthology brings together fifteen Brazilian authors, including Carlos Barbosa, Lima Trindade, Luis Pimentel, Sidney Rocha and Tom Correia.
For soccer fans and fans of Brazilian short fiction, and for those who want to revisit the mythical 1982 team.
Luís Vázquez Fernández-Pimentel was a Galician poet.
