In the fifth volume of the 'A Song of Ice and Fire' saga, George R.R. Martin immerses us again in a world where the future of the Seven Kingdoms hangs by a thread. In the east, Daenerys Targaryen, the last scion of House Targaryen, reigns in a city built on dust and death, besieged by enemies. Meanwhile, in the north, Jon Snow, Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, faces challenges both within and beyond the Wall. Conflicts reignite, betrayals are perpetrated, and a grand cast of characters faces seemingly insurmountable obstacles in an age of rising unrest, where the tides of destiny and politics inevitably lead to the greatest dance of all.
