«A demanda de Fierra» is the science fiction novel by Stephen R. Lawhead, published by Bertrand Editora in paperback (466 pages, in Portuguese).
The itinerant writer and historian Orion Treet accepts an eight-million-dollar mission: travel to Empyrion, an extraterrestrial colony about which nothing has been heard for a long time, and write a report on it. After boarding a space transport with a very motley group of companions, he arrives at a turquoise world of lush vegetation that seems perfect, though he soon discovers that appearances are deceiving.
First installment of the Empyrion saga; the second volume is O Cerco de Domo. Originally published in English as The Search for Fierra, with Portuguese translation by Manuel Cordeiro.
For readers of science fiction and space opera who enjoy missions to distant worlds and interstellar colonies.
