En 'A hora de espertarmos xuntos', Kirmen Uribe narra la historia de Karmele Urresti, sorprendida por la Guerra Civil en su Ondarroa natal. Ante el exilio masivo, decide quedarse para curar heridos e intentar liberar a su padre encarcelado. Tras la guerra, se exilia en Francia, uniéndose a la embajada cultural vasca, donde conoce al músico Txomin Letamendi, su futuro esposo. Juntos viajan por Europa hasta que, ante la inminente caída de París, huyen a Venezuela. La historia vuelve a irrumpir cuando Txomin se une a los servicios secretos vascos, regresando a una Europa en plena Segunda Guerra Mundial para espiar a los nazis, hasta su captura en Barcelona, bajo una dictadura fatal. Karmele, sola, arriesga su vida con la esperanza de dejar atrás lo más preciado. Esta novela es una gran obra sobre la historia vasca, española y europea desde el siglo XX hasta nuestros días.

Kirmen Uribe is a Basque-born New York-based award-winning writer whose work transcends borders, weaving together personal and collective histories. Through poetry and fiction, he explores themes of identity, migration, and memory, and reinvents the form. His debut novel, Bilbao–New York–Bilbao, won National Prize for Literature in Spain. His works have been translated into over twenty languages. Uribe's poetry has appeared in journals including The New Yorker and The Paris Review. In 2018, he received the New York Public Library Cullman Center Writing Fellowship. He now lives in New York City with his family, where he teaches creative nonfiction in the MFA program in Creative Writing in Spanish at New York University (NYU).
