«A Ilíada de Homero Contada às Crianças e ao Povo» is the prose adaptation of the Iliad by João de Barros, in paperback (118 pages, in Portuguese).
This prose adaptation narrates the wrath of Achilles and the central episodes of the Trojan War, from the abduction of Helen to the fall of the city, with an epic tone that recalls the Homeric poem.
This edition, published by Livraria Sá da Costa Editora in 2008, belongs to the collection «Clássicos da Humanidade» and includes illustrations by André Letria.
It is intended for children and the general public, as a first approach to the Homeric classics for those who prefer a brief prose narrative.
