Sofía Solanas de O'Dwyer, daughter of an Argentine landowner and an Irish Catholic, grows up in the vastness of the pampas under the protective figure of the ombú, a tree to which she confides her dreams, her first love and the beginning of her tragedy. After being forced to leave the fields of Santa Catalina, her strong character leads her to make mistakes that distance her from her land; years later, her return confronts her with the past and the possibility of recovering peace and closing the most turbulent circles of her existence.
