«A Lús do Candil» is Ánxel Fole's collection of short stories, published by Galaxia in paperback (172 pages).
The fifteen stories in this collection recreate rural Galicia and its oral tradition: tales by the fireside where the everyday meets the supernatural. Ghosts, wolves, premonitions and fantastic dreams, narrated with humor and imagination, transform daily life into mystery stories from the Galician popular imagination.
Originally published in 1953, it is part of the Galaxia Narrativa collection; it includes Salvador Lorenzana's prologue to the first edition.
For readers interested in Galician narrative, rural costumbrismo and oral-tradition tales with supernatural elements.
