«Accidentes íntimos» is the novel by Justo Navarro published by Círculo de Lectores in hardcover (140 pages, in Spanish).
After a woman attempts to take her own life in a hotel, her friend, confronted with what has happened, watches as order and trust in her closest relationships unravel. The figure of the suicide fascinates her and disrupts her surroundings: familiar objects and certainties become strange, the past reappears distorted, and nothing can be relied upon.
It belongs to the Nueva Narrativa Española collection from Círculo de Lectores. Winner of the Herralde Novel Prize.
Aimed at readers of contemporary Spanish fiction interested in the psychological exploration of personal relationships.
