«Aigües encantades» is the modernist play by Joan Puig i Ferreter, published by Educaula in paperback (192 pages, in Catalan).
Set in a mountain village in the Tarragona region, the action begins with a long drought that pits the traditionalist and conservative sector, which holds power, against the modern proposal of an engineer from the city, supported by the local boss's daughter. This sets up the conflict between tradition and modernity.
This edition is number 30 in the Educació 62 collection and includes a preliminary study, text commentaries and didactic proposals by Jaume Aulet.
Recommended for ages 14 and up, it is a common school reading for approaching Catalan modernist theatre.
