«Alegría» is the contemporary novel by Manuel Vilas, shortlisted for the Premio Planeta 2019, published by Editorial Planeta in hardcover (360 pages, in Spanish).
During a world tour, a novelist reviews his story and that of his generation through memories: the death of his parents, the divorce, and the present with his children. The narrative oscillates between confession and autofiction, drawing momentum from the past to launch toward a future in which joy still fits.
Shortlisted for the Premio Planeta de Novela 2019, it was published in Barcelona within the Autores Españoles e Iberoamericanos collection.
For readers of contemporary fiction interested in memory and autofiction.
