«Ali Babá e os 40 Ladrões» is the children's adaptation of the classic One Thousand and One Nights, by Ana Oom, published by Pingo Doce in paperback, in Portuguese.
The book tells how Ali Baba, a humble woodcutter, accidentally discovers a cave where a band of forty thieves hides a great treasure. The entrance only opens with the phrase «Ábrete, Sésamo», and the discovery puts the protagonist in danger when the thieves try to find out who has violated their secret.
Recommended for children aged 4 to 6 who are beginning to read, as a first approach to the classic tale in Portuguese.
