Synopsis of Almas muertas
Almas Muertas es una novela del escritor ruso Nikolai Gogol, publicada por primera vez en 1842. Considerada una de las obras maestras de la literatura rusa, la novela sigue las aventuras de Pável Ivánovich Chíchikov, un funcionario que viaja por la Rusia rural comprando "almas" de campesinos muertos (siervos) a los terratenientes locales. El objetivo de Chíchikov es hipotecar estas almas "muertas" como si estuvieran vivas y así obtener ganancias económicas. A través de sus encuentros con diversos personajes y sus interacciones en diferentes propiedades, Gogol ofrece una crítica satírica de la sociedad rusa de la época, exponiendo la corrupción, la burocracia y la decadencia moral.
