«Aloma» is the novel by Mercè Rodoreda, published by Edicions 62 in paperback (240 pages, in Catalan).
Aloma, an eighteen-year-old woman from Barcelona, sees her life disrupted by the arrival of Robert, an in-law returning from America. The novel follows the contradictory feelings this relationship awakens in her and the clash between her idealized world and a worn-out family reality, in a lyrical tone that portrays the passage to maturity.
Work revised by the author in 1969; the edition is based on this second version. Part of the Educació 62 collection.
