«Amelia, la trapecista» is the children's story by Ricardo Alcántara, published by Anaya Infantil y Juvenil in paperback (64 pages, in Spanish).
The little monkey Amelia dreams of being a trapeze artist in the circus of the hippopotamus Genovevo. To achieve it, desire is not enough: she is small, lacks the right outfit, and cannot even read or write to sign the contract. A story of perseverance showing how determination can overcome apparent limitations.
Published in 2000 and illustrated by Jesús Gabán, it is number 61 in the El Duende Verde collection from Anaya Infantil y Juvenil.
Recommended for children aged 8 and up, especially for intermediate readers who enjoy stories about animals and the circus.
