«Amor y guerra» is the contemporary novel by Ramón Saizarbitoria, published by Erein Argitaletxea in paperback (264 pages, in Spanish).
A love relationship deteriorates until it becomes a permanent war with brief truces. The narrative, rigorously constructed, expands minimal anecdotes and mixes the time of the story with prolepsis and deliberate reiterations, while outlining the psychology of a disturbing character.
Volume 2 of the Biblioteca Ramon Saizarbitoria collection. Translated from Basque by Begoña Montorio Uribarren; original title: «Bihotz bi». The work received the Euskadi Prize for Dissemination.
