«Amor y pedagogía» is the satirical novel by Miguel de Unamuno published by Editorial Vicens Vives in paperback (288 pages, in Spanish).
Avito Carrascal, father of Apolodoro, applies positivist theories to his son's education to make him a prodigy. The novel caricatures that misunderstood pedagogy and pits reason, faith and spontaneity against each other. With an ironic tone, Unamuno tries out the «nivola» and his concerns emerge: existential anguish and individual freedom.
This edition belongs to the Clásicos Hispánicos collection, with auxiliary material and editing by Bénédicte Vauthier and Manuel Otero. The work was originally published in 1902.
The edition has a didactic character and is suitable for secondary school students, as well as for use in Language and Literature classes.
