«Anais Nin. Desnuda bajo la máscara» is the biography of Anaïs Nin by Élisabeth Barillé, published by Espasa-Calpe in paperback (287 pages, in Spanish).
The work traces the life and writing of Anaïs Nin through her surroundings: her mother was the singer Rosa Culmell, her father the pianist Joaquín Nin, and her husband a banker; these circumstances led her to write her diary. The book explores the distance between the public image and the intimacy of a writer marked by the mask.
Espasa Biographies collection. Translated from the French by Catherine Tussy. Original title: «Anaïs Nin : masquée, si nue».
