«Ananda» is the young adult novel by Federica de Cesco, published by Alfaguara in paperback (238 pages, in Spanish).
Ananda, an eighteen-year-old mountaineer, travels to Nepal with her father to climb the peak that bears her name. Sherpas and porters refuse to ascend it, as it is consecrated to an ancestral goddess and a taboo weighs upon it. The threats of the prior of the Lamas' monastery and the unsettling practices hidden there turn the expedition into an adventure on the brink of disaster.
It belongs to the Juvenil Alfaguara collection, number 118, and is translated from German by María Teresa Zubiaurre.
A reading intended for a young audience, especially for those who enjoy adventure and mountain stories.
