«Anton taucht ab» is the children's and young adult novel by Milena Baisch, published by Julius Beltz in paperback (112 pages, in German).
Anton spends a few days at a campsite with his grandparents and discovers, to his dismay, that there is no pool but a decidedly unappealing lake. He refuses to dive into those waters, but friendship with a very special fish leads him to a summer adventure he won't forget.
The work belongs to the Gulliver collection, with illustrations by Elke Kusche, and was awarded the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis.
Aimed at young readers, as well as German learners at A2/B1 level or with reading difficulties, and inclusive classrooms.
