«Ao entardecer, após a Guerra» is a memoir by Viviane Forrester, published by Terramar in paperback (210 pages, in Portuguese).
In these memoirs, Viviane Forrester returns to her youth and the postwar landscape, when everything was yet to be rebuilt. The narrative weaves personal memory with collective history; the cover, featuring an appeal by General de Gaulle, reinforces that memorialistic atmosphere.
This Portuguese edition, published in 2001, translates the original work published in 1992 under the title «Ce soir après la guerre».
Viviane Forrester was an essayist, novelist, journalist and literary critic.
