«Apártate del sol» is the poetry collection by Javier Lorenzo Candel, published by Ediciones de la Isla de Siltolá in paperback (68 pages, in Spanish).
The book takes its title from Diogenes' remark to Alexander the Great, and the author presents it as an exercise in creation, honesty, and vindication of poetry. With Octavio Paz's idea of modernity from tradition, the work aims to illuminate the past, vindicate the present, and point to what we can become.
It is number 52 in the Siltolá Poesía collection and corresponds to the first edition, published in Seville in 2018.
For readers of Spanish-language poetry interested in literary creation and the dialogue between tradition and modernity.
