«Arab Jazz» is the crime novel by Karim Miské, published by Editions Viviane Hamy in paperback (298 pages, in French).
In the 19th arrondissement of Paris, Ahmed Taroudant, a dreamer fond of noir fiction, discovers the body of his neighbor Laura and is forced to collaborate with lieutenants Rachel Kufstein and Jean Hamelot. The investigation, laden with symbols and tinged by the neighborhood's religious communities, connects a drug called Godzwill with a plot that goes from Paris to New York.
«Arab Jazz» is Karim Miské's first novel, published in the Chemins Nocturnes collection. It won the Grand Prix de Littérature Policière 2012 and was nominated for the CWA International Dagger in 2015.
For readers of noir fiction and crime thrillers who enjoy urban, multicultural plots and criminal investigations.
