«The Art of Being» is the philosophical and psychological essay by Erich Fromm, published by Bloomsbury Academic in paperback (144 pages, in English).
Erich Fromm distinguishes the paths that truly lead to self-knowledge and enlightenment from false directions, and proposes reaching self-awareness through psychoanalysis and meditation. Against the shortcuts of superficial well-being, the author presents the art of living as a personal transformation that moves away from egocentrism.
The volume brings together chapters written by Erich Fromm between 1974 and 1976, while he was preparing «To Have or to Be?»; the edition includes a foreword by Rainer Funk.
A book for readers of philosophy and psychology interested in psychoanalysis, meditation and personal development.
